Fomo Dojo · Last updated 7 September 2026

Fomo Dojo is a private, invitation-only app for seeing which cities your friends are in. This page explains exactly what it stores, who can see it, and how to remove it. It describes the app as it actually works today.

The short version

The app does not track your location. It has no access to your device's location and never asks for it. Everywhere you appear in the app is somewhere you typed in and chose from a list.

What we store

About those city coordinates

When you pick a city we store that city's centre point alongside its name — the same point for everyone who picks it, and not your position. It is there so that cities sharing a name are not mistaken for one another.

Finding people you know

The app can check which of your contacts are already using Fomo Dojo. It is optional, it is off until you choose it, and everything else works without it.

Being straight about what the scrambling does: it protects your contacts' numbers if our database were ever exposed, which is real and worth having. It does not make those numbers unknowable to us — phone numbers are short enough that anyone holding both the scrambled values and the app's scrambling key could work them back out. We are telling you this rather than implying a guarantee we cannot make.

Notifications

If you allow them, the app can tell you when someone you are connected to is coming to your city, when your trips overlap, when someone asks to connect, and when someone leaves a note. You control each of these in Me → Notifications, and you can turn them all off in iOS Settings.

Notifications go only to people you are already connected to, never to anyone who has blocked or muted you, and never about anyone who has set themselves to Vanished.

Who can see it

Services we rely on

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising. The app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.

Deleting your account

Me → Delete account removes your profile and everything attached to it: your trips, connections, invitations, notes, mutes and blocks — along with the scrambled form of your number and any notification tokens for your devices. This cannot be undone.

Being straight about a current limitation: deleting from within the app removes your profile and all of your content, but the underlying sign-in record — the phone number held by our authentication provider — is not yet removed automatically. Email the address below and we will delete it by hand. We are building the automatic path.

Children

Fomo Dojo is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who can see it, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
